Ellery is a junior majoring in Finance and Economics and minoring in Women's Studies. Beginning in Summer 2020, she interns at the Women of the World Endowment in both financial and impact engineering. Summer 2021, Ellery will be joining Girls Who Invest as a Summer Intensive Scholar and will spend six weeks as an intern at the Baupost Group in Boston. Outside of school, Ellery enjoys thrifting, working out, and spending time outdoors.
Thomas is a senior from Birmingham, AL double-majoring in Chemistry and Accounting and minoring in Social Innovation and Leadership. He has been with the Consumer Discretionary committee for 4 semesters and will be graduating in May of 2022. Thomas spent the summer of 2020 as a private equity intern with New Capital Partners and this past summer as an investment banking summer analyst with Baird in Washington D.C. After, graduation Thomas hopes to pursue a career in management consulting or entrepreneurship. In his free time, Thomas enjoys listening to podcasts, playing basketball, and going to the gym.
Carsen Piacsek is a rising junior from Waukesha, Wisconsin majoring in Mechanical Engineering and is on the STEM Path to MBA. He has been a member of the group since the first semester of his freshman year and is a member of the Consumer Discretionary Committee. This summer Carsen will be interning at 1919 Investment Counsel in Birmingham working on the New Business Development Team. In his free time, Carsen enjoys staying active, spending time with friends, and following sports.
Hope is a junior from Birmingham AL, studying Economics and Finance. She joined the group in the fall of 2020 and has enjoyed learning more about the consumer discretionary sector. Hope interned with the Wealth Edit, a banking firm in Birmingham last summer. She is looking forward to learning more about value investing and pursuing an internship this summer! In her free time Hope enjoys traveling, cooking, and hanging out with friends and family!
