John Heins is the Director of C.T. and Kelley Fitzpatrick Center for Value Investing at the University of Alabama's Culverhouse College of Business. The Center was created in 2020 to be the intellectual home for the discipline and practice of value investing, focused broadly on education, on research, and on making lasting connections between the University, its students and its alumni and finance and investing professionals from around the world. He serves as the Faculty Advisor for the Culverhouse Investment Management Group and for the Investment Banking Academy.

John since 2004 has also been the  President, Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of investment-media company Value Investor Media, Inc., which publishes the highly regarded investment newsletter Value Investor Insight. He holds a B.S. in Economics with a major in accounting from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Zeke Ashton is the Associate Director of the C.T. and Kelley Fitzpatrick Center for Value Investing at the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business.  He also serves as a Faculty Advisor for the Culverhouse Investment Management Group. 

From 2002 until 2018, Zeke was the founder and managing partner of Centaur Capital Partners, 
a value-oriented asset management firm based in Dallas, Texas.  Prior to founding Centaur Capital Partners, he was employed as a featured writer investment analyst for The Motley Fool, a media company based in Alexandria, Virginia, that specializes in investing and personal finance.  From 1995 to 2000, Zeke was based in Europe as a senior analyst and project manager in the treasury and risk management consulting business and worked with various clients in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and the United Kingdom. He graduated from Austin College, a liberal arts college located in Sherman, Texas, in 1995 with degrees in Economics and German.
